On the other hand, stainless steel 308 contains 20% chromium and 10% nickel with 0.08% carbon and trace amounts of other elements like phosphorous and sulfur.

Heat Resistance

Its high chromium and nickel content provide oxidation resistance, while its lower carbon content helps prevent carbide precipitation. Stainless steel 308, on the other hand, is not typically used for high-temperature applications because of its lower chromium content.
